While reciting Surah Rahman, a Muslim comes to know about the blessings of Allah. Allah has mentioned his multiple blessings in Surah Rahman in detail. A Muslim goes under the influence of the way of speech that Allah has adopted to express His great blessings created on heaven and earth.
Not only the blessing on earth has been mentioned, but also the blessing in heaven. This Surah is entitled Ar Rahman, the word with which it begins. Surah Rahman. The commentators generally hold the view that this is a Makki Surah, though according to some traditions which have been cited on the authority of Hadrat Abdullah bin Abbas, Ikrimah and Qatadah, it was revealed at Madinah. But, firstly, there are also some other traditions from these very authorities, which contradict this view; secondly, its subject matter bears a closer resemblance with the Makki Surahs than with the Madani Surahs; rather it appears to belong to the very early Makkah period.
However, there are several authentic traditions which testify that it had been revealed in Makkah itself many years before the hijrah. They responded to it better than you have. This tradition indicates that on the occasion of the incident that bas been related in Surah Al Ahqaf vv.
Besides, we come across another tradition which shows that it is one of those Surahs which were the earliest Revelations at Makkah. The Companions expressed the apprehension that he might be subjected to a harsh treatment and said that it should better be done by a person of a powerful family, who would protect him if the Quraish tried to subject him to violence.
And leave Me alone to deal with those in possession of the good things of life, who yet deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while. One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. We have sent to you, O men! But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment.
It is an obligation - and blessing - for all who hear of the Quran and Islam to investigate it and evaluate it for them. Allah has guaranteed that He will protect the Quran from human tampering, and today's readers can find exact copies of it all over the world. It is a divine guidance to humanity so that we can successfully reach our destiny - the Hereafter. It is a book that is not like any book ever written.
It is for this reason that the title or name of a chapter would not reveal the total information and contents in that chapter. The information contained in a chapter of the Quran is woven together and laid down in a mosaic form that might give the feeling of lack of continuity and order. Interconnection between the verses and the continuity of the subject might not be apparent or existing. Varied information within the same verse can also be found. Verses that have obvious and clear connection should be studied together.
After one reads a chapter more than once, one is able to comprehend all the important lessons in that chapter.
